We strive to collect, organize, classify and disseminate information in all formats and media to complement and enrich textbooks, teaching materials and methologies. We also teach our students library skills, which will enable them to be lifelong responsible independent learners/researchers. And we promote the enjoyment of reading as the pathway to knowledge and cultural appreciation.
Our Library has the following collections:
- English fiction for teenagers and adults
- Spanish fiction for teenagers and adults
- Ecuador Collection (books about Ecuador in different knowledge areas)
- Non-Fiction books to support curriculum
The Library opens daily at 8.00. It closes at 16.15 Monday to Thursday and 15.30 on Friday.
Meet our Secondary Librarian
Maggie Novoa has worked with books all her life, as a librarian, an editor for school books, translator, style editor, reader and writer of children's stories. She has a degree as librarian and a Bachelor in Education, majoring in Ecology. At BSQ she has organized and managed the Secondary Library since its very begining back in 2002.
Maggie considers that reading is a magical way for people to engage with other people's thoughts represented in books, which is why she enjoys her job encouraging the young students at BSQ to share her joy of reading.
