About the Role

We are seeking applications from individuals who have experience of teaching Primary and Secondary sports. Applicants must have a relevant Bachelor degree from a reputable University and Qualified Teacher Status.

Teaching posts are initially offered as a two-year contract, with the possibility of renewal of contract at the end of this period. The remuneration package offers a basic salary in excess of that offered in the UK, with low taxation, along with annual flights, a housing allowance, full medical cover and a relocation allowance to assist in settling in the city. A bonus is provided for every year taught, along with annual remuneration increases based on performance reviews. The teaching year consists of 180 days, with good holidays spread throughout the academic year allowing staff to make the most of their time in Asia.

As an English school specialising in the English National Curriculum to a diverse international student population, English as a First language is a crucial requirement for the candidate, and accordingly applications from native-level speakers of English will be preferred.

The Opportunity - This is an extremely exciting opportunity for a talented and qualified Key Stage 1 Teacher to join our newly founded school. You must have recent experience working as a Primary School Teacher in a UK curriculum school, ideally KS1. The role is due to start from school opening in August 2022. Candidates must be available from the 1st of August 2022 to commence employment.

United School International is the first and probably only school to be built on the Pearl, providing education for children within the local community. Because of its position, its beautiful architecture and facilities, The Pearl is one of the most desirable locations for both expatriate and local Qatar families in the city and is a rapidly growing and exciting place to live and work.

Our Primary School consists of FS, KS1 and KS2 classes with multiple form entry. All teaching groups are small and supported by TAs, LSAs, SEN and EAL specialists who support enrich the National Curriculum and EY Framework. The school has a number of state-of-the-art facilities to support exceptional teaching including the latest touch screen technology, technology labs, art facilities and easy access to carefully landscaped indoor and outdoor play areas.

The ideal candidate will have prior teaching experience to children aged 5-7 years old, and be comfortable working within Year 1 settings.

Applicants should be committed and outstanding teaching practitioners, able to lead in the classroom by example. The candidate must:

• Have a relevant Batchelor degree from a reputable university and qualified Teacher status, either PGCE or B.Ed from the UK

• Have previous Primary School teaching experience ideally within KS1.

• Have a passion for education, able to communicate clearly with good collaborative team working skills.

United School International is a newly founded school on the prestigious Pearl Development in Doha, Qatar, a residential development reclaimed from the Arabian Gulf. There is a combination of spacious high-rise apartments and luxurious villas currently housing a population of 33,000. When finally completed in two years’ time this will have risen to around 50,000.
