Victoria, a lifelong member of the BSQ family, shares her inspiring journey from student to teacher. After graduating from BSQ and pursuing her studies at St Andrews, one of the UK’s top universities, she has returned to her roots to shape the next generation as a Business and Humanities teacher.
Hi everyone, my name is Victoria and I was a student at BSQ from the age of 2 until I was 18 and graduated. I left Ecuador for university in 2020 and returned after four years as I always knew I wanted to come back.
I studied anthropology and international relations at St Andrews and although these are classes one does not engage with directly at school level, the IB and IGCSE programs facilitated my background knowledge and interdisciplinarity, all of which was crucial for grasping more complex and abstract works at an undergrad level. The school was great in providing me with strong foundations and work ethic which made my time at university enjoyable and relaxed despite my university being ranked consistently top 3 in the UK.
I have returned to the BSQ community as I am now the Business and Humanities teacher for Secondary, this has been an exciting and full circle experience as I grew up in the same spaces I am now teaching in.
